Vivek Akula is an Audit & Risk Advisory leader with over 17 years of experience across the oil & gas, power, and manufacturing sectors. He currently serves as Associate Director at Grant Thornton in Abu Dhabi, where he leads risk consulting engagements and is responsible for developing internal audit capabilities within the energy and manufacturing sectors.
Prior to this, Vivek held a senior internal audit role at ADNOC Refining, where he led risk-based audits, advised executive leadership, and contributed to strategic audit planning and governance frameworks. He has also worked with KPMG and Ernst & Young, delivering large-scale risk advisory, internal audit transformation, and governance projects across the Middle East and India.
Vivek’s expertise includes enterprise risk management, internal audit, board-level investigations, and engineering audits with a focus on process safety and operational excellence. He has a strong track record of delivering measurable impact, including generating over AED 200 million in value through audit recommendations.
He has served multiple Major Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities Companies in UAE and India. Major clientele in UAE includes ADNOC, ENOC, ENEC, Mubadala etc. Major clients in India include Reliance Industries, Nayara Energy, Torrent Power etc.​
