He has over 17 years of experience in internal audit, risk advisory and governance. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he worked with leading consulting firms, multinational organisations and family businesses in the region.
- Urvish has a proven track record in implementing large-scale ICFR programmes across multiple countries. He has a deep understanding of UAE SCA regulations relating to ICFR and the COSO framework.
- Urvish has supported boards in assessing and strengthening governance arrangements, including reporting mechanisms, whistleblowing, business continuity and fraud monitoring practices. He has helped develop a GRC operating model for a large family business.
- Urvish has led internal audit engagements as per IIA standards, with a focus on practical recommendations, stakeholder alignment and high-quality delivery.
- He has led complex risk assessments that helped organizations prioritize key risks, evaluate the effectiveness of mitigating controls, and convert the results into practical, risk-based internal audit plans. He also embeds data analytics into internal audit delivery to focus audit effort on areas of greatest risk, improve the depth of testing, and generate clearer insights for management.
- He brings practical IT audit and technology controls experience, including ITGC, ITAC, segregation-of-duties and automated controls reviews. He is able to connect ERP and system-level control matters with broader financial reporting, operational and governance risks. He has also developed practical AI-enabled audit automation solutions designed to improve audit consistency, efficiency and quality.
