As a skilled corporate finance professional with over 14 years of experience, Salmaan has acted as lead advisor across a range of international transactions involving companies across North America, Far East, Europe, Middle East, Pakistan, India and South Africa.
During his career with Grant Thornton over the last decade, he has originated, developed and successfully completed investment opportunities in the UK for local and overseas investors. Furthermore, he has advised corporates, private equity firms, and high net worth individuals across various sectors on both buy-side and sell-side mandates for cross-border and domestic M&A transactions.
Salmaan was previously seconded to the UK M&A Regulator, The Takeover Panel, for two years where he worked on several high-profile M&A transactions involving listed companies with market capitalisations ranging up to £40 billion. He was also a member of the ICAEW Corporate Finance Faculty's takeovers working committee and was consulted regularly on M&A policy matters.
Prior to joining the UAE firm of Grant Thornton, he led the listed company M&A practice in the UK, and was also responsible for corporate finance transactions involving the Far East & the UK. Additionally, Salmaan was a Qualified Executive, approved by the London Stock Exchange, to act as an authorised Nominated Adviser (Nomad) for AIM companies on the Stock Exchange. He has advised companies on their strategy, bid tactics, business plans, investor relations, corporate governance and funding options including IPOs.
