Grant Thornton is Lighting It Up Blue

The initiative is to raise public awareness and inclusion of autistic people and their families. 

Autism Awareness Day aims to increase public understanding and acceptance of people with autism. Over the years, ibecame the world movement when landmarks around the globe are turning blue on the 2nd of April. 

Hisham Farouk, CEO of Grant Thornton UAE, launched our Autism inclusion initiative in partnership with Autism Centers in the UAE in 2016 to help local families with autistic children adapt to the adult world. Currently, we have two young professionals with autism who come to our Dubai office every week as interns.  

Euan Buenavides has been with Grant Thornton since 2017. During his internship in Tax Advisory Department, he graduated from Integreat Center for Special Needs. He is known for his strong excel skills and data entry. Recently Euan started completing more accounting-related tasks 

Mahmood Fuad joined our audit team in October 2020 and has been progressing very well. He encompassed proficiency and expertise in using the Microsoft Office.  

We comprehend the challenges and difficulties autistic people and their families face daily. Our team provided supportive environment to meet the needs of Euan and Mahmood. Over time, they showed exceptional results at their workWe are grateful for their contribution to our firm and proud of their progress.  

Along with millions of people our team will be wearing blue to encourage acceptance of autistic people and their familiesJoin us to raise the awareness and Light It Up Blue.
