Prior to joining Grant Thornton UAE, he worked as a Manager in Grant Thornton’s Durban office, in South Africa. He trained as an articled clerk for 3 years with Grant Thornton Durban, South Africa, after which he spent a year at Massmart Holdings —a subsidiary of Walmart (US).
Being client-oriented with his infectious energy and enthusiasm. During his tenure with Grant Thornton UAE, he was promoted to Senior Manager and subsequently to Director. He is known to be a self-starter and a go-getter and is a part of multiple internal initiatives at firm level.
He has professional experience in planning, supervision, and management of audit assignments (including group consolidations) for the local and global listed and unlisted groups in the Middle East and Africa region.
Khaleel is also an International Liaison Director for the UAE office, where he coordinates with Grant Thornton member firms internationally and is responsible for all aspects of services rendered to clients in this regard, including audit & assurance, financial reporting, taxation, management consulting, special purpose audits, tax planning, advisory and general business advice.
Khaleel has experience in varied sectors like oil & gas, hospitality & leisure, tourism, real estate, construction, retail, consulting, manufacturing, healthcare, and media & technology.
