Grant Thornton UAE becomes a DMCC approved reviewer

  • Grant Thornton UAE becomes a DMCC approved reviewer

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre is a free zone authority for the Jumeirah Lake Tower Free Zone. It was established in 2002 (by royal decree) as a strategic initiative of the government of Dubai with a mandate to provide the physical, market and financial infrastructure required to set up a commodity market place in Dubai.

Grant Thornton have been approved by the DMCC to perform ISAE 3000 audits (in accordance with DMCC’s Review Protocol for responsible sourcing of gold) for members subscribing to any of the DMCC’s responsible sourcing initiatives i.e. Dubai Good Delivery (DGD), Market Deliverable Brand (MDB) and Responsible Market Participant (RMP).

Hisham Farouk, Managing Partner of Grant Thornton said “we are delighted to have been approved by DMCC as one of their reviewers. We have successfully advised entrepreneurial businesses and particularly SME’s, similar to the members of DMCC who we have supported through their growth lifecycle. We at Grant Thornton, look forward to continuing our relationship with the stakeholders and members of a key free zone in the region.”

DMCC recently won an award for being the best MENA and UAE Free Zone for SME’s which are seen as a pivotal business group within the region. Through our synergy of supporting and advising dynamic SME’s, this approval further cements the great initiatives which both Grant Thornton and DMCC are partaking in. Thus resulting in a parallel vision of supporting the establishment and growth of dynamic SME’s who have an instinct for growth.
