Sam brings over fifteen years of experience as a corporate tax specialist within the UK and the UAE. He is a partner in the Corporate Tax team in Grant Thornton UAE, focused on providing corporate tax, risk assurance and tax accounting services for clients.
Sam has provided specialised tax services to a range of businesses, from large international groups to individual companies across a variety of industries, including Financial Services and Oil & Gas. In addition to providing tax advisory services, he brings extensive experience in assisting clients with the design and implementation of their internal tax processes and controls.
Since arriving in Dubai, Sam has led the delivery of the global tax compliance requirements for a large family owned Middle East conglomerate, advised a large multinational retail franchise operator on their tax accounting requirements for a significant group restructuring project and performed detailed testing of tax controls for a large Middle East sovereign wealth fund as part of a wider ICFR project.
In addition, Sam has been a guest speaker at numerous client and public events, focusing on the implications for UAE businesses on the introduction of the Federal UAE Corporate Tax regime.
